Welcome to my hell! No, seriously, thanks for visiting, please give as much as you can afford no matter how much that is. Since my dad was taken from us in March 2007 by coronary artery disease I have become frighteningly aware that i need to get my wobbly ass into gear and lose some weight! With Alister's help (i.e. a cry of "Mummy, don't eat biscuits or your tummy won't get smaller!"), and hopefully the help, support and encouragement of every one of you I am aiming to swap some lbs for some £££s in aid of Heart UK. (you see what i did there...). The charity raises awareness of high cholesterol and heart disease and provides invaluable advice and support to families with inherited heart problems . Even if you never need their services there are some great nutrition leaflets to download on their website that are full of information. I have opened this page until 11th Dec 2008. I don't want to set myself a long term goal or I'll probably get disheartened at being miles off within a month but by the 20th August 2007 I aim to have lost my first 20lbs. That works out at about 2lbs per week. I actually started seriously making changes on June 11th 2007 but wanted to have an update for you before I asked you to sponsor me. In the past 2 weeks I have lost 7lbs (or 9lbs, depending on how my possessed scales are feeling but i'll err on the side of caution and go with the 7lbs!). I am planning to send out a monthly update email to let you all know how I am getting on. At the moment I'm not brave enough to disclose my starting weight but rest assured I won't tell you any porkies about how I am doing. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: HEART UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now! And take a look at my progress blog at http://dont-eat-the-donuts.blog.co.uk/ , i have been writing it since June 11th so a wee bit to catch up on!
Many, many thanks for your support and encouragement. The thought of raising money for this fantastic charity will certainly make me think twice about phoning for that chicken kebab and chips on a saturday night (no matter how hot the delivery boy is!).
